Information about this children’s home
At the time of the inspection, no children were living in the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This children’s home was judged inadequate at the full inspection on 28 and 29 April 2026. Ofsted suspended the home’s registration as children were at risk due to serious and widespread failings to provide safe and effective care.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The purpose of this monitoring visit was to review the provider’s adherence to the suspension notice. The inspector found that there was no evidence that children had been living in the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
At the last full inspection, 5 requirements were made. These were not considered and will be reviewed as part of the next inspection.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The home environment is currently in the process of being redecorated and furnished. The layout of the home has also been considered to better meet the needs of children, to provide them with more communal space to relax. The home presents a welcoming and homely place for children to live. However, it is not ready for children to live in due to work being ongoing.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The registered manager has not been in the home since the last inspection. A new interim manager has been appointed. The interim manager has completed a review of some policies and implemented new monitoring tools and systems to improve Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2869572 2 their oversight of the home and the quality of care provided for children. It is hoped that these tools will enable managers to identify any shortfalls in the care that children receive and to be proactive in addressing them. However, it has not yet been possible to measure how effective these are in practice, due to no children currently living in the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the last inspection, only 2 staff have remained in post. One new staff member has been recruited. Recruitment for the home remains ongoing. Staff currently working in the home have completed some mandatory training, while other important training dates have been scheduled in. There is currently not enough staff in post to care for the number children the home is registered for.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The planning and assessment process for children moving into the home has been reviewed and updated. The interim manager has implemented a suitable process and plan to ensure that essential information about potential children for the home is requested, assessed and planned for against the needs of the children already living there. Again, this process remains untested as the registration of the home remains suspended. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2869572 3
