p.1
This monitoring visit
The multi-building home was inspected on 18 and 19 May 2026 and was graded inadequate. As a result, several statutory requirements were set and compliance notices were issued under Regulation 12, ‘The protection of children standard’ and Regulation 13, ’The leadership and management standard’.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Ofsted issued a restriction of accommodation notice to ensure that no further children were admitted, given the identified shortfalls.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The purpose of this visit was to monitor the compliance notices that were set following the last full inspection and to ensure that the restriction of accommodation notice is being adhered to.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the last full inspection, leaders and managers have undertaken a comprehensive review of assessments of risk for each child. Each individual risk has been identified and there is a clear plan of action that staff follow consistently to reduce the risk of harm to the children. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2870977 2 Leaders and managers have ensured that staff have the necessary skills and training to meet children’s needs and to keep them safe. Staff have completed risk-specific training, alongside safeguarding and first aid. This means that staff feel confident to respond to incidents quickly and consistently, when this is required.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Staff take effective action when safeguarding concerns are identified. Recording of incidents has been strengthened and contains all the required details. Managers consistently complete debrief discussions with staff and children following an incident. Furthermore, managers have implemented a learning review of each incident to identify areas for improvement in staff practice, and any additional support required for each child. These reviews take place with individual staff, and findings from the reviews are considered in regular team meetings, staff supervision and one-to-one discussions. Actions taken from learning reviews are tracked to ensure timely completion, which supports ongoing staff reflection and development.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Complaints are addressed swiftly. Following concerns being identified, leaders and managers ensure that safeguarding partners, including the regulator, are notified without delay. Managers liaise closely with the local authority and partner agencies during investigations and ensure that appropriate action is taken to review the concerns and ensure the children’s safety.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Leaders and managers have been proactive in addressing the identified shortfalls, making good progress quickly. The manager reports good support from the senior leadership team. There is evidence that the manager and senior leaders have developed and begun to implement robust audit and oversight systems. However, these systems are not yet fully embedded in practice.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Sufficient progress has been made within Regulation 12 and Regulation 13 and, therefore, the compliance notices are considered met. The restriction of accommodation notice has been lifted. Progress against the statutory requirements has not been reviewed at this monitoring visit and will be considered at the next inspection.
