This monitoring visit
The home was judged inadequate at the full inspection on 27 and 28 January 2026. Following the inspection, 3 compliance notices were issued under Regulations 6, 12 and 13 of The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015. A monitoring visit was undertaken on 16 March 2026, during which inspectors found that the compliance notices had not been met. As a result, Ofsted suspended the home’s registration.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The provider has now recruited a permanent responsible individual and a registered manager. Together, they have developed a comprehensive action plan to address the identified shortfalls. This plan is reviewed regularly, and significant progress has been made.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The information and technology system has been changed so it is more user- friendly, and the manager has enabled notifications to ensure that senior leaders have immediate oversight of any safeguarding concerns. Senior leaders have also introduced a structured audit schedule that enables them to routinely scrutinise practice. Staff are well prepared for their roles through access to good-quality training. Senior leaders have implemented a comprehensive and intensive training programme, which was designed in response to staff feedback about previous learning experiences. This has ensured that training is delivered in a way that meets staff Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2830806 2 learning needs effectively. The programme has addressed all the areas for development identified by Ofsted. The manager and deputy further reinforce learning through regular knowledge checks and scenario-based questioning, enabling gaps in understanding to be promptly identified and addressed.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Senior leaders demonstrate a strong commitment to staff development. The manager has implemented individual development plans for each staff member, which include specific learning objectives linked to previously identified shortfalls, as well as personalised targets. These plans clearly outline how targets will be achieved and demonstrate the progress made.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The manager has redesigned key documentation, including separating children’s plans into distinct care, health and education plans. New formats for pre-admission assessments and risk assessments have been introduced. These documents are clear, detailed and fit for purpose.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The shortfalls identified at previous inspections have been addressed and Ofsted has lifted the suspension of the home’s registration. The requirements raised at the previous inspection were not reviewed in their entirety and therefore remain in place. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2830806 3
