p.1

This monitoring visit

The security and safety concerns that were identified at the monitoring visit in July 2025 have been addressed. The environment is appropriate to meet the needs of children.

p.1

This monitoring visit

After the visit had been completed, managers informed Ofsted that a temporary admissions area would be created in one of the flats. However, there are currently some risks associated with the way children can access this area and some parts of it are not suitable for children to use. There is a risk of a fall from height due to an exposed railing at the top of the stairs, one door in the area has not been upgraded Inspection report for secure children’s home – monitoring visit: 2801375 2 and the toilet has not been adapted for use by children. Managers are aware that the area cannot be used until the specialist architect has agreed that the planned adaptations have been carried out and are suitable. The temporary admissions area would only need to be used once 3 of the flats have been occupied. Leaders have a suitable staged admissions plan in place that allows time for remedial works to be completed before the temporary admissions area is used.
