Leadership and governance Expected standard
Through discussion, leaders are able to demonstrate how they are meeting the statutory requirements of the early years foundation stage. They explain that through regular observations of practice they are able to identify the setting's strengths. Leaders describe how staff build secure and trusting relationships with children and their families. This helps them to understand children's individual needs, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and to plan for their interests. Leaders ensure younger children are assigned a key person to further foster positive relationships and promote their wellbeing. Leaders have implemented familiar routines to help children understand what is happening and when. They explain how they promote positive behaviour amongst children through good role modelling. In addition, leaders have introduced visual reminders and prompts to remind children of the club's rules and expectations. Leaders understand their role in

Leadership and governance Expected standard
Leaders implement regular discussions and meetings with staff. This helps leaders and staff to reflect on the provision they are offering and identify areas of development. For instance, they have plans to extend the adult-led craft activities in the outdoor area. Leaders place high priority on their staff wellbeing. Staff report that they feel supported in their roles.

About this inspection
We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.
p.3
About this inspection
There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors evaluate and grade only leadership and governance, as there is no reliable evidence from other evaluation areas through which to assess the impact on children. This data was available to the inspector at the time of the inspection.
