p.1

Inspected under the social care common inspection framework

p.1

Information about this children’s home

The home is owned and managed by a private organisation. It provides care for up to 2 children who may experience social and emotional difficulties. At the time of the inspection, no children were living in the home.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

The manager has submitted an application to register with Ofsted.

p.1

This monitoring visit

An assurance inspection was undertaken on 17 March 2026. During this visit, the inspector identified serious and widespread concerns in relation to the care and protection of children and the leadership and management of the home.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Inspectors returned on 24 March 2026 to gather additional evidence in line with Ofsted inspections and visits: deferring, pausing and gathering additional evidence policy.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Following the gathering additional evidence visit, Ofsted made the decision to suspend the accommodation at the children’s home under section 14A of the Care Standards Act 2000 (the Act) with immediate effect.

p.1

This monitoring visit

The monitoring visit was carried out to monitor the suspension of accommodation notice. The inspectors found that the provider has complied with the suspension of accommodation notice.

p.1

This monitoring visit

The registered manager has left since the last visit, and a new manager has been recruited. There have been further changes in the staff team, which now has an improved range of experience. Leaders and managers have implemented a coordinated, comprehensive programme of training and reflection to address the identified shortfalls and strengthen staff’s competence, confidence and oversight. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2837555 2 Staff have engaged in a range of workshops. These have included practical and creative learning. These sessions have focused on improving consistency in safeguarding practice, behaviour management and assessment of risk. Leaders and managers have used reflective sessions effectively to assess staff’s knowledge, identify learning needs and highlight any additional areas for development.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers have reviewed referral processes. They have strengthened initial risk assessments so that they more clearly match staff’s skills in meeting children’s needs. They have also placed greater emphasis on engaging with professionals who know the children well before any planned move to the home takes place.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The home environment has been refreshed throughout and now presents as welcoming and homely. Therefore, the requirement relating to the home environment has been met.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The remaining requirements issued at the last inspection have not been reviewed. No children have lived in the home since the last visit. As a result, it has not been possible to demonstrate that day-to-day care is delivered to keep children safe. Therefore, the requirements will be reissued to give the provider the opportunity to demonstrate how they will provide effective and safe care for children.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Following this visit, the decision was made for the suspension notice to be lifted. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2837555 3
