Childminder

Unique reference number (URN): 2775347 Registered with Ofsted: 02/02/2024 Registers: EYR, CCR, VCR

p.1

Leadership and governance Needs attention

Although household members within the home of the childminder do not have direct contact with children, the childminder has failed to notify changes to any new household members. This means Ofsted has not carried out the necessary checks to ensure all household members are suitability checked and safe to be around children.

p.1

Leadership and governance Needs attention

During the tour of the childminder's home, she explains that she carries out regular risk assessments of the premises. However, these do not sufficiently identify or address weaknesses in the security of the outdoor garden gate to prevent unauthorised access. As a result, the arrangements for keeping the premises secure, and the risk assessments themselves, are not robust enough.

p.1

Leadership and governance Needs attention

Through discussion, the childminder demonstrates she understands how to observe and assess children's individual needs. She explains she would use this information to plan a curriculum that is sequenced to support children's progress through developmental stages. The childminder explains, although there are no children on roll with special educational needs and/or disabilities or disadvantaged children, she has upskilled her knowledge by attending training, such as 'Dingley's Promise' through the local authority. This has strengthened her understanding of how to create an inclusive culture at her setting.

p.1

Leadership and governance Needs attention

Through discussion, the childminder demonstrates she understands why it is important to build a positive relationship with parents. She demonstrates an understanding of the importance of promoting regular attendance and how this helps to develop positive habits and routines that support children's future learning.

About this inspection

There were no early years children on roll at the time of this inspection.
