p.1
Information about this children’s home
The manager registered with Ofsted in July 2025 and resigned with immediate effect in December 2025. The responsible individual also resigned in December 2025.
p.1
This monitoring visit
On 11 December 2025, the registered manager for the home contacted Ofsted to advise that they were resigning from their role with immediate effect. On 12 December 2025, the responsible individual for the home contacted Ofsted to advise that they were also resigning. The director of the company informed Ofsted on 15 December 2025 that the home did not have enough staff to provide safe care for children. Ofsted was of the view that should children move into the home, they would be at risk of harm due to the lack of experienced, suitable, permanent leaders and an insufficient number of staff to safely care for them. On 16 December 2025, Ofsted issued a notice restricting accommodation at the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
A visit was carried out on 9 February 2026 to monitor the provider’s adherence to the notice restricting accommodation. Following this visit, a further notice restricting accommodation was issued by Ofsted on 11 February 2026.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This latest visit was carried out to monitor the provider’s adherence to the further notice restricting accommodation.
p.1
This monitoring visit
No children have lived at the home since it registered, and no children have moved into the home since the notice restricting accommodation was issued. Therefore, the notice restricting accommodation has been adhered to. Inspection report for children's home – monitoring visit: 2809243 2 The provider has not appointed a manager for the children’s home. They reported that the quality of applicants being provided by their preferred recruitment agency was not appropriate. Interviews of prospective managers were reported by the provider to be taking place in the week of this monitoring visit. At the time of this visit, no manager had been appointed.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The provider has recruited 5 interim responsible individuals since the restriction of accommodation notice was issued. None of the candidates were progressed to full employment. At the time of the monitoring visit, the provider had identified a suitable applicant for the role of responsible individual and was completing recruitment checks. At the time of this visit, there was no permanent leadership team at the home.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Leaders have not recruited sufficient staff to provide safe care for children and have not been able to demonstrate that recruitment checks have been completed satisfactorily. The provider confirmed that 4 staff members have been recruited and a further 2 were going through safer recruitment checks. However, a review of the recruitment files of the 4 staff indicate that some recruitment checks are outstanding. The provider stated that they wished to ensure managers were in place to oversee the recruitment of staff.
p.2
This monitoring visit
As a result of the continuing lack of a permanent leadership and management team and insufficient staff to provide safe care for children, Ofsted has issued a further notice restricting accommodation at the home. Ofsted will continue to monitor the provider’s adherence to this notice. Inspection report for children's home – monitoring visit: 2809243 3
