p.1
Leadership and governance Needs attention
The childminder has failed to ensure that she has public liability insurance in place at all times. Although she rectified this during the inspection, there have been instances when this has previously lapsed while she has been caring for children. This demonstrates weaknesses in the childminder's practice to ensure that all required documentation is in place.
p.1
Leadership and governance Needs attention
The childminder demonstrates an understanding of children's individual needs, including those of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. She knows the importance of working collaboratively with parents and relevant professionals to identify concerns, implement strategies and monitor progress to ensure children receive appropriate support. The childminder knows how to teach children to keep themselves safe. She talks about how she will introduce age-appropriate discussions and activities, such as practising road safety and using digital devices responsibly. The childminder understands how to create a nurturing and emotionally secure environment by responding sensitively to children's cues and offering reassurance during times of change. The childminder demonstrates an understanding of how children learn. She talks about how she will support their early language, balance and coordination, and social skills. She knows how to use

About this inspection
We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.
p.3
About this inspection
There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with the childminder and an inspection of the premises, equipment and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance, as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
