p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder discusses the aims she has for her provision. She describes how she has a close focus on children's nutrition and health and taking children out into the community. The childminder explains how she would form her curriculum. She discusses how she would carefully think through the activities and learning opportunities she would offer children.

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder understands her responsibility to work in the best interests of all children in her care. She appreciates the importance of sensitively supporting disadvantaged children and using additional funding to bridge gaps in children's experiences. The childminder explains how she would work closely with parents and carers, building up a two-way flow of information to help support children consistently. She knows to get children early help, undertaking clear assessments and outlining any gaps in children's development. The childminder explains she would signpost parents to available support and work with outside professionals, including to prepare children for their move on to school.

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder discusses her processes for keeping children safe, in her home and when on outings. She undertakes mandatory training to make sure she has the skills to support children appropriately, such as safeguarding and paediatric first aid. The childminder discusses using the materials provided through her memberships with professional organisations. She explains she uses these to help her reflect on her knowledge and keep her abreast of changes to guidance. The childminder would also use these to gain new ideas to refresh her skills and develop her provision when she starts childminding again.

About this inspection

We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.

About this inspection

There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation.
