Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2843374 1 Registered provider: Exertive Care Group Limited
p.1
Inspected under the social care common inspection framework
p.1
Information about this children’s home
This is the only home owned by the provider. It is registered to provide care for up to 2 children who may have social and/or emotional difficulties.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
At the time of this inspection, there were no children living at the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This children’s home was judged inadequate at the full inspection on 20 January 2026. Following the inspection, Ofsted issued a notice suspending the registration of the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The purpose of this inspection was to assess the provider’s compliance with the suspension notice and to evaluate any progress made.
p.1
This monitoring visit
There were no children living at the home at the time of this visit. The provider continues to comply with the notice suspending the home’s registration.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Progress in addressing the concerns raised at the full inspection remains limited since the monitoring visit on 16 March 2026.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The leadership and management arrangements at the home remain ineffective. There is no registered manager in post, and the interim manager is still undecided about whether to apply to Ofsted for registration. Furthermore, the interim manager has not been provided with effective support to develop their knowledge and skills via training or regular supervision. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2843374 2 The director, the proposed responsible individual and interim manager remain unaligned in their approach to address some of the shortfalls. This limits progress. This also means that staff are not provided with clear, consistent and transparent leadership and management.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Several new staff have been recruited to work at the home, some who have experience of working in residential childcare. However, leaders and managers are not working together to ensure that safer recruitment processes are followed consistently. Safer recruitment checks are only complete for one member of staff and the terms of employment for staff are unclear.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The statement of purpose does not detail the number of children that the home can provide care and accommodation for.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Some policies have been updated since the last monitoring visit. There is also a new form in place to support staff recording information and evaluating children’s risks. However, their effectiveness cannot be fully assessed due to no children currently living at the home.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The requirements made at the last inspection have not been considered as part of this visit and will be reviewed at the next inspection. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2843374 3
