p.1
Information about this children’s home
The registered manager post has been vacant since 20 January 2026. An interim manager is in place until a new manager is appointed.
p.1
This monitoring visit
On 28 January 2026, Ofsted carried out an assurance inspection of the home. The inspection identified serious and widespread concerns in care provided to children, safeguarding practice and in leadership and management. Consequently, a compliance notice under Regulation 12 was issued and a notice restricting accommodation.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The purpose of this visit was to monitor what actions leaders and managers had taken to comply with the steps outlined in the compliance notice under Regulation 12.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The child’s care plans have been reviewed to offer guidance to staff on how to meet the individual needs of the child. The manager has not ensured that all staff have read the updated plans, which could mean there are shortfalls in knowledge. There are suitable risk assessments in place, which provide staff with advice and guidance on how to manage and mitigate emerging risk. These aim to support constant practice and help ensure the child’s safety and wellbeing. However, the manager has not ensured that all staff have had sight of and read the updated plans. This mean that some staff do not have an understanding and knowledge about the child’s needs. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2838519 2 Staff have completed relevant training to meet children’s needs. Also, there are arrangements in place to ensure that newly recruited staff complete mandatory and specific training. Shortfalls identified in the last inspection regarding staff

This monitoring visit
safeguarding practice are yet to be embedded. Leaders and managers plan reflective discussions with staff to develop their learning, and a better understanding of children’s needs.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Due to vacancies, additional staff support in the home is provided by agency staff. The manager has ensured consistency in the staff that work in the home; however, the core staff team are predominantly permanent staff members. This ensures continuity of care.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Adaptations to the home environment are in place to meet the physical needs of the child. Where temporary adaptations are in place, the manager is working with relevant professionals to identify an appropriate permanent solution. This ensures that the child can utilise areas of the home independently and safely.
p.2
This monitoring visit
An application has been submitted to Ofsted to vary the condition of registration. This will be assessed to see whether leaders can demonstrate the capacity to operate the home in line with the proposed variation.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Leaders and managers acknowledge the concerns raised by Ofsted and have taken action to address most shortfalls. The inspector found that the compliance notice under Regulation 12 had been met. Previous requirements raised at the full inspection were reinstated with one additional requirement issued. The notice restricting accommodation remains in place.
