Childminder
Unique reference number (URN): EY410187 Registered with Ofsted: 21/06/2010 Registers: EYR, CCR, VCR
p.1
Leadership and governance Needs attention
The childminder has failed to meet some of the requirements of registration. She does not have an up-to-date first-aid certificate and does not have public liability insurance in place. The impact of this is minimal because the childminder does not have children on roll. She knows she must complete first-aid training and obtain insurance before children can return. The childminder has booked onto a suitable course.
p.1
Leadership and governance Needs attention
The childminder explains she would plan a curriculum that builds children's communication and language by building on their interests. The childminder would develop a love of books by visiting the library and reading stories frequently. She explains how she would promote counting and an awareness of number, building children's skills gradually. She states she would monitor children's progress and ensure that all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, are ready for the next stage in their learning. The childminder describes how she would support children that experience speech and language difficulties. For example, she would use single words or simplify instructions. The childminder recognises the importance of training in order to maintain standards and gain new knowledge. She describes how she would monitor the work of assistants.

About this inspection
There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
p.3
