Childminder

Unique reference number (URN): EY499082 Registered with Ofsted: 07/08/2017 Registers: EYR, CCR, VCR

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder demonstrates a clear understanding of statutory requirements. She understands the importance of promoting inclusive practice and ensuring the safety of children. Although she is not currently caring for children, she has kept her knowledge and skills up to date. She engages in professional development by completing mandatory and additional training courses and by networking with other local childminders. The childminder understands how participating in professional development helps her to identify areas to further develop in her practice. She also understands how her reflective approach will help her evaluate the provision, ensuring she provides ongoing, high-quality support for children and their families.

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder demonstrates how she intends to place all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, at the centre of her practice. For example, she understands how to observe and assess children and how to plan activities to promote all areas of learning within the early years foundation stage. The childminder outlines how her daily routines and outings will be conducted safely. She demonstrates an understanding of how risk assessments will be carried out before taking children on trips within the community, such as to libraries, parks, playgroups and museums.

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder describes how she intends to work in partnership with parents and carers and external professionals. She explains that parents will be kept informed about the activities their children engage in, through verbal and written feedback. In addition, she will provide parents with suggestions to promote continuity of learning between home and the setting. She explains how working with external professionals will support her to meet children's needs and remove any barriers to their learning and wellbeing.

About this inspection

There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment and any relevant documentation.
