p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

Leaders regularly check how the club is running and make changes when needed. They review routines, resources and activities to make sure they meet children's needs. Leaders take account of feedback from children, staff and parents and carers. This helps them to identify what is working well and what could be better, so that the club continues to improve over time. Even though there are currently no early years children attending, leaders keep all policies up to date, continue with training and ensure procedures remain appropriate so they meet the appropriate requirements. Leaders maintain robust partnership with the host school. They communicate regularly with school staff to share information about safeguarding and to promote consistent approaches.

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

Leaders think carefully about how they can best support children with barriers to their wellbeing, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. They work with parents and the school to gather useful information and put the right support in place. Leaders help staff to understand their roles through clear induction processes, training and regular supervision meetings. These conversations help staff to reflect on their work and build confidence. Leaders understand that supporting staff's wellbeing is important for maintaining a safe and positive environment for children. They know how to do this through measures, such as providing paid training time and opportunities for flexible breaks during sessions. Leaders recognise that staff who are well supported are better able to focus on children's needs.

p.3

About this inspection

We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.

p.3

About this inspection

There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas. This data was available to the inspector at the time of the inspection.
