Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2843374 1

p.1

Information about this children’s home

This is the only home owned by the provider. It is registered to provide care for up to 2 children who may have social and/or emotional difficulties.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

At the time of this inspection, there were no children living in the home.

p.1

This monitoring visit

This children’s home was judged inadequate at the full inspection on 20 January 2026. Following that inspection, Ofsted issued a notice suspending the registration of the home.

p.1

This monitoring visit

The purpose of this inspection was to assess the provider’s compliance with the suspension notice and to evaluate any progress made in improving the quality of care.

p.1

This monitoring visit

There were no children living in the home at the time of this visit, and the provider is complying with the notice suspending the home’s registration.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Progress in addressing the concerns raised at the full inspection remains limited. There is no registered manager in post. The former deputy manager is acting as interim manager but has not yet decided whether to apply for registration. The previously proposed responsible individual left the organisation shortly after the last inspection, and the director has since appointed a new proposed responsible individual.

p.1

This monitoring visit

The new proposed responsible individual has developed an action plan to address the shortfalls and has begun implementing some actions. However, the director, interim manager and proposed responsible individual are not aligned in their approach to improvement and disagree on several key issues. In addition, the Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2843374 2 interim manager and director did not have access to the most up-to-date action plan during the inspection.

p.1

This monitoring visit

There are only 2 staff currently employed to work in the home. The interim manager and proposed responsible individual state that they are in the process of recruiting additional staff, who will have experience of residential childcare.

p.2

This monitoring visit

There are plans in place to train new staff when they are in post. This includes physical intervention and safeguarding training. This will ensure that the staff team have the required skills to care for children.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The provider reports that an electronic recording system has been introduced to improve management oversight and ensure children’s plans reflect all relevant risks. A new assessment tool has also been implemented to evaluate whether children can live together safely. However, as neither measure is yet in use, their effectiveness cannot be assessed.

p.2

This monitoring visit

A new independent person has been appointed. However, the registered person has not ensured that visits have been carried out each month during the suspension of the home. A further requirement has been given.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The requirements made at the last inspection have not been considered as part of this visit and will be reviewed at the next inspection. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2843374 3
