Childminder

Unique reference number (URN): EY370608 Registered with Ofsted: 03/06/2008 Registers: EYR, CCR, VCR

p.1

Leadership and governance Urgent improvement

The childminder has a poor understanding of her roles and responsibilities, including her statutory duties to keep children safe. She has not recognised key areas for improvement. Where breaches to requirements have occurred, the childminder has not identified and responded to these in a timely way. Training and professional development opportunities have not been effective in keeping her knowledge of statutory duties and requirements up to date. The childminder regularly transports children by vehicle but has not obtained or maintained appropriate insurance for this. This impacts on the safety and welfare of children.

p.1

Leadership and governance Urgent improvement

Since the last inspection, the childminder has moved premises. She has failed to inform Ofsted about changes to the type of care that she is providing, including care that she is not registered to provide, and has not notified Ofsted about different addresses where she has provided care from. The childminder has not acted with integrity and has not been transparent about the care that she has provided since the last inspection. This impacts on her suitability to act in the best interests of all children. The childminder can explain how she would identify children's individual needs, including gaps in, or barriers to, their learning. She shows understanding about how to work in partnership with parents and other professionals to obtain support and advice to promote their outcomes.

p.3

About this inspection

There were no early years children present or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
