Naqvi, Tahira Batool

Unique reference number (URN): EY459157 Address: 164 Haworth Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD9 6NQ Type: Childminder Registered with Ofsted: 05/06/2013 Registers: EYR, CCR, VCR Registered person: Naqvi, Tahira Batool

p.1

Leadership and governance Needs attention

The childminder has some systems in place to check the safety and suitability of the premises. However, they do not take swift enough action to address safety issues when they arise. For example, they do not take prompt action to fix broken locks on garden gates to ensure the premises remain secure. They do not repair damaged flooring that poses potential trip hazards. The childminder does not take steps to remove safety risks, such as exposed copper pipes and electrical cables. This does not help to ensure the premises remain secure, safe and suitable to provide childcare.

p.1

Leadership and governance Needs attention

The childminder is a positive advocate for children. They understand how to plan enjoyable and inclusive activities that take account of children's interests and stage of development. The childminder knows how to use additional funding that children receive to enable them to access their learning and receive targeted support. They plan to share information with parents about ways to support their child's learning at home.

p.1

Leadership and governance Needs attention

The childminder values the importance of working in partnership with parents and external professionals. They plan to gather and share information with parents to ensure children's individual care and learning needs are met from the outset. The childminder understands the support available and knows how to make referrals to external professionals where gaps emerge in a child's development. They explain how this helps to ensure children receive the targeted support that they need.

p.2

Leadership and governance Needs attention

The childminder accesses support and coaching from the local authority and regularly completes online training for continued professional development. They keep up to date with mandatory training, such as paediatric first-aid and safeguarding training. The childminder recently completed online training to further develop their understanding of supporting children's communication and language skills. This helped them identify ways to strengthen their teaching and the importance of having high-quality interactions with children.

About this inspection

We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.

p.3

About this inspection

There were no early years children on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
