Leadership and governance Urgent improvement
The childminder has a weak understanding of her roles and responsibilities. This has resulted in several breaches of the statutory requirements set out in the 'Early years foundation stage statutory framework'. The childminder does not understand how to monitor her provision effectively. She is not able to identify weaknesses in her own practice or recognise poor practice when she works with other childminders. This does not assure children's safety and welfare.

Leadership and governance Urgent improvement
The childminder does not understand safer recruitment processes. She does not know that adults whose suitability has not been confirmed by Ofsted must not be included in child-to- staff ratios. This does not protect children from the risk of being cared for by unsuitable adults. The childminder shows a limited ability to promote children's good health. For instance, she does not demonstrate an understanding of the importance of preventing children from sharing drinking cups or poor dummy hygiene, which poses hygiene risks.
p.1
Leadership and governance Urgent improvement
The childminder demonstrates poor awareness of risk assessment. For example, she does not show an understanding of how to identify hazards to children, such as a cluttered environment or unsuitable chairs that babies can attempt to climb on. This compromises children's safety.
p.2
Leadership and governance Urgent improvement
Although the childminder has completed some training, including on behaviour management, she does not show an understanding of how to put this into practice. She does not take effective action to make and sustain improvements to the provision where needed. This does not promote children's wellbeing.
