Childminder

Unique reference number (URN): EY362272 Registered with Ofsted: 04/10/2007 Registers: EYR, CCR, VCR

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder has children's welfare at the centre of her practice and she creates a warm and welcoming environment. Even with no children in the early years age range on roll at the time of inspection, she undertakes high-quality training to keep her knowledge current and ensure that she complies with relevant legislation and guidance. She uses this to evaluate and reflect on her practice as she continues to update her resources and plans how to support different age groups.

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder actively seeks information from parents about children's backgrounds, likes and dislikes so she can adapt her teaching and environment to suit all children in her care, including children who are disadvantaged and those who face barriers to their learning and/or wellbeing. This means that children benefit from an inclusive environment that is planned around their needs.

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder works closely with parents, keeping them up to date with their children's developments. She also collaborates with other settings children attend. For example, she sends them regular updates about children's development and interests. This supports children to receive a joined-up approach to their learning.

Facts and figures used on inspection

This data was available to the inspector at the time of the inspection.

p.3

8 to 10

We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.

p.3

8 to 10

There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.

p.3

Exceptional

Practice is exceptional: of the highest standard nationally. Other settings can learn from it.

p.4

The setting reaches a strong standard. Leaders are working above the standard expected of them.

p.4

p.4

Needs attention
