p.1
Leadership and governance Expected standard
The childminder maintains effective oversight of the provision and keeps systems in place so the setting remains ready to meet statutory requirements. Leadership of the setting has remained stable since the last inspection. The childminder understands the setting's strengths and uses self-evaluation and feedback from parents to review her practice. She regularly reflects on the environment, routines and documentation to ensure they remain suitable and up to date.
p.1
Leadership and governance Expected standard
Through discussion, the childminder demonstrates secure knowledge of children's learning and development. She explains that observations and discussions with parents help her understand what children can already do and what they need to learn next. She recognises the importance of reviewing children's progress and the curriculum to identify any gaps in learning and support children to achieve positive outcomes.
p.1
Leadership and governance Expected standard
The childminder explains that this process also helps identify barriers to children's learning or wellbeing. Where concerns arise, she works with parents and seeks advice from the local authority early years team to implement appropriate support. She understands the importance of reviewing strategies to measure their impact for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. The childminder promotes respect and positive behaviour through the setting's 'golden rules' and shares how she regularly completes training. This includes safeguarding, 'Prevent' duty, equality and autism awareness, to strengthen her practice.

About this inspection
There were no early years children present at the time of this inspection. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
