Childminder

Unique reference number (URN): EY340848 Registered with Ofsted: 03/10/2006 Registers: EYR, CCR, VCR

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder demonstrates secure knowledge of her responsibility to meet the statutory requirements of the early years foundation stage. She maintains organised systems and uses regular self-evaluation to review the effectiveness of her provision, drawing on parental feedback and her own reflections to inform improvements. She understands the importance of building strong partnerships with parents, including sharing policies and procedures and involving them in reviewing children's learning and wellbeing.

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

Following her previous inspection, the childminder reflected on the recommendations, accessed local authority training and received coaching from an early years coordinator to strengthen her understanding of child-led learning and how to support children's thinking skills. She explains how she would provide opportunities for children to explore resources independently and express their ideas.

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder demonstrates clear curriculum intent, focused on school readiness, independence and the prime areas of learning. She describes how she would use 'Development Matters' to assess children's stage of development, set next steps and identify gaps. She understands how to adapt provision, including working in partnership with external professionals to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Professional knowledge, safeguarding oversight and understanding of healthy lifestyles and inclusion support secure leadership.

p.3

2 to 2

We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.

p.3

2 to 2

There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
