Leadership and governance Needs attention
The childminder has not met a requirement of the early years foundation stage, she has not completed a full paediatric first-aid qualification. She has undertaken online training only. This means she is not fully compliant with mandatory training requirements.
p.1
Leadership and governance Needs attention
The childminder does demonstrate a willingness to reflect on her professional development. She has identified further training needs, including learning and development for babies and training to support her knowledge of how to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
p.1
Leadership and governance Needs attention
The childminder recognises the importance of working in close partnership with parents to support children's learning and development. From the outset, she gathers detailed information about what children already know and can do, as well as their interests and preferences. This enables her to plan and deliver learning opportunities that are relevant, appropriate and tailored to each child's individual starting point, supporting progress over time. The childminder is able to talk about how she can work alongside parents and signposts them to external agencies for tailored support. When observing and assessing children, she explains the importance of acting in a timely manner to secure additional support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
p.1
Leadership and governance Needs attention
Through discussion, the childminder demonstrates a thoughtful approach to supporting children's behaviour and emotional wellbeing. She explains how she talks with children and listens carefully to understand the reasons behind their behaviour.
