Leadership and governance Expected standard
Leaders promote high standards across the provision. They have a clear oversight and use strategic reflection of their setting's strengths and weaknesses to consider improvements and development priorities. For example, they recognise the different ages of the children that attend their provision and make thoughtful adaptations to their activities to ensure they are consistently appropriate for all children.
p.1
Leadership and governance Expected standard
Leaders have rigorous procedures in place to ensure that staff suitability is continually monitored. Staff receive regular supervision sessions and attend frequent team meetings that focus on practise and performance. As a result, staff feel valued and regularly make positive contributions to the provision. Alongside this, leaders plan training precisely to align with the priorities for the setting. For example, staff attend training to increase their understanding of the impact of the environment and consider how to create calm areas to support emotional regulation. Leaders also monitor staff workload to ensure it is manageable. They create an open culture, where staff feel comfortable to share their views.
p.1
Leadership and governance Expected standard
Leaders ensure that staff have a consistent approach to supporting children's welfare and positive behaviour. For example, leaders plan that staff implement clear and consistent boundaries to children so that they develop a secure understanding of what is expected of them.
p.2
Leadership and governance Expected standard
Leaders ensure that parent partnerships are robust. They communicate with parents before children first start to establish how they can support them. This ensures children with special educational needs and/or disabilities have their needs met appropriately. Staff also collaborate closely with school staff, to support them with strategies that improve individual children's experiences at the club.

About this inspection
We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.
p.3
About this inspection
There were no early years children present at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early use children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
