Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2596541 1 SENSITIVE-RECIPIENTS ONLY
p.1
Registered provider: Aspris Care North West Limited
p.1
Inspected under the social care common inspection framework
p.1
Information about this children’s home
The home registered with Ofsted in October 2020 and is operated by a private company. It provides care for up to 2 children who experience social and emotional difficulties.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
At the time of this visit, 2 children were living at the home.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
The manager registered with Ofsted in February 2025.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The home was judged inadequate at the full inspection on 27 and 28 January 2026. This was due to serious and widespread safeguarding failures and poor leadership and management of the home. Following the inspection, two compliance notices were issued under regulation 12 (the protection of children standard) and regulation 13 (the leadership and management standard).
p.1
This monitoring visit
The purpose of this visit was to review the actions taken by the provider to meet the steps outlined in the compliance notices. The inspector found that the provider has not taken sufficient action to meet the compliance notices.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The registered manager and responsible individual have started to address the shortfalls identified at the full inspection.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the previous inspection, staff have received training in physical disabilities. This includes adaptations to their physical intervention techniques. However, not all staff have received this training. This could affect staff’s ability to meet children’s physical health needs. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2596541 2 SENSITIVE-RECIPIENTS ONLY
p.1
This monitoring visit
The provider has ensured that the fire risk assessment, the evacuation plan and the child’s personal emergency evacuation plan have been reviewed by the fire service and health and safety personnel. However, the responsible individual and registered manager have not addressed the actions identified by the fire service.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The children’s risk management plans have been reviewed and updated. However, plans do not include all relevant information or appropriate strategies to minimise risk. Staff spoken to were not aware of all risks for one child. This could affect staff’s ability to take appropriate action to keep the child safe.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Since the last inspection, there have been further serious incidents. Records in respect of these incidents do not demonstrate that staff understand their safeguarding roles and responsibilities to keep children safe. A serious incident occurred that led to a child suffering harm in the community. Although staff acted appropriately to ensure that the child received medical care, poor safeguarding practices affected children’s safety.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Staff speak to children about their risks and vulnerabilities. Staff give children consequences for their behaviour. Consequences are appropriate in nature. However, recordings of incidents do not meet regulatory requirements.
p.2
This monitoring visit
One child left the home on the morning of this visit. This was a well-planned move, which the manager and staff supported. This helped the child settle into their new home and begin building relationships with the new staff team.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Staff vacancies affect children receiving care from a consistent staff team. The registered manager is currently working shifts, along with three agency staff members and additional staff from the provider’s homes who are also working at the home.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Since the last inspection, not all staff have received supervision in line with the home’s statement of purpose. Supervision records for two members of staff do not demonstrate what discussions took place around reflections and lessons learned from the previous inspection. Furthermore, no team meetings have taken place since the last inspection.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Further to this visit, the other child moved out of the home. A condition was imposed on the home’s registration. This means that the provider must notify Ofsted of their intention to admit any children into the home. This will give the provider time to address the shortfalls.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The requirements and recommendation raised at the last inspection are outside the scope of this visit. The requirements will be reviewed at the next inspection. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2596541 3 SENSITIVE-RECIPIENTS ONLY
