Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2830418 1 Registered provider: Beaufort Care Group Ltd

p.1

Inspected under the social care common inspection framework

p.1

Information about this children’s home

This home registered with Ofsted on 31 July 2025 and is owned and operated by a private organisation. It provides care for up to 3 children who may experience social and emotional difficulties.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

The manager registered with Ofsted in July 2025.

p.1

This monitoring visit

At the home’s full inspection on 17 and 18 December 2026, serious concerns were identified in relation to the safety of children. Ofsted identified that children’s bullying behaviours were not being responded to adequately, and children said they did not feel safe in the home. As a result, a compliance notice was issued in relation to regulation 12 (the protection of children standard). The purpose of this visit was to determine the progress that leaders and managers have made to address the concerns outlined in the compliance notice. As a result of this visit, the compliance notice was found to be met.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers have implemented a programme of training and development to ensure that staff have the necessary knowledge and skills to protect children from harm. Staff have attended a workshop to refresh their understanding of child safety and the actions they should take if they have any concerns. Staff have also undertaken anti-bullying training, consisting of an online module and face-to-face training to enhance their understanding of how to identify bullying, how to intervene during incidents and how to help them manage relationships between children.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers have increased their oversight of practice in the home. A new manager has recently been appointed, and the new responsible individual is spending more time in the home and is now more actively present in day-to-day operations. The head of quality compliance is also providing support, contributing to Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2830418 2 a stronger management presence in the home. This strengthened leadership and improved visibility have clarified expectations for staff and enhanced communication across the team, resulting in improved consistency and routine in their practice and for the children.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Staff are now clearer about the expectations of the actions they should take following incidents of concern between children. They are now having conversations with children following incidents to provide them with an opportunity to discuss their experiences. In addition, staff now have opportunities to reflect together on how they responded to incidents, and managers are recording their observations on the quality of staff interventions during incidents. There is increased oversight of incidents, staff interventions, and patterns of children’s behaviour.

p.2

This monitoring visit

One child has recently left the home; this decision was made by leaders as they had assessed that the staff did not have the skills to keep the children safe if they all continued living together. Since the child left, the remaining children have begun to settle and are much calmer.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Despite these improvements, staff are not consistently encouraging children to reflect on their behaviours following incidents or helping them understand how their actions affect others. Incidents have reduced, and children are now safer. However, it is not consistently clear that this is due to the work undertaken by staff. As a result, a new requirement has been raised to address this.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers acknowledge the shortfalls identified during the previous inspection and recognise that they are on a journey of improvement. They have identified that further action is needed to improve children’s care and experiences. Leaders and managers have implemented an action plan and demonstrate commitment to taking this forward.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Due to the nature of this visit, requirements and recommendations from the full inspection were not considered and therefore remain in place. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2830418 3
