p.1
Leadership and governance Expected standard
The childminder continues to show that she can meet the needs of children in her care. She describes how she is is committed to providing good-quality education and care. The childminder explains how she takes appropriate steps to make sure the setting is ready for children to return. She understands what works well in her provision, especially her focus on keeping children safe and supporting all children effectively. She has policies and procedures in place, but these should be made more specific to reflect the childminder's home-based setting.
p.1
Leadership and governance Expected standard
The childminder keeps her knowledge up to date through training, including recent safeguarding updates. She knows what to do if she is worried about a child and understands how to contact safeguarding professionals. She is clear about how she would work with parents and outside agencies to support children who may need extra help, including disadvantaged children and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. For example, she explains how she will use additional funding to buy resources to support children's speech, language and communication. The childminder describes how she has good links with other local childminders, which will give children opportunities to socialise and interact with others.
