Findings from the inspection
We did not identify any serious or widespread concerns in relation to the care or protection of children at this assurance inspection.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Since the last inspection, there have been significant improvements to the condition of the home environment. Children’s bedrooms have been redecorated and refurnished, and communal spaces have been refreshed and personalised in line with children’s preferences. Children now benefit from a welcoming home and the atmosphere is calm, which helps children to feel safe and secure.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Children are making good progress from their individual starting points. Risks have reduced for all children. Since the last inspection, there have been no incidents of children going missing and no incidents of bullying between children.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Children are actively engaged in a range of activities that reflect their individual interests. Examples include playing pool, going to the gym, tabletop gaming and shopping. These opportunities promote children’s confidence as well as their physical and emotional wellbeing.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
The home now has a stable workforce, following previous high turnover and the frequent use of agency staff. Children are receiving care and support from a consistent staff team. This consistency provides children with predictable and reliable routines and has reduced anxiety. Children are developing meaningful and positive relationships with the adults who care for them.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Staff manage challenging behaviours well. They understand and implement identified support strategies as required. Staff talk to children and de-escalate tense situations without the need for physical intervention. Over time, incidents have reduced and children are openly sharing how they are feeling, reflecting improved relationships and increased trust.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
The manager is child focused and provides effective support to the staff team. She operates an open-door policy. Practice-related supervision sessions are regular and focus on children’s needs and staff development. The manager is physically present in the home and role models good practice. Feedback from staff is positive regarding the changes made and the resulting improvements in outcomes for children. Training is accessible and up to date. Overall, staff morale has improved; the team is motivated and this, in turn, has improved the care provided to children.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Since the last inspection, the manager has registered with Ofsted and has made a positive difference. She is committed to continuous improvement and has strengthened monitoring systems, which are effective in evaluating the quality of care that children receive. As a result, the home has met all previous requirements from the last inspection. Assurance inspection report for children’s home: 2638322 3
