Inspection report for supported accommodation provider - monitoring visit: Indigo Support Limited 1 Indigo Support Limited

p.1

Registered provider: Indigo Support Limited

p.1

Inspected under the social care common inspection framework

p.1

provider

This supported accommodation service is owned and managed by a private provider. It offers accommodation and support for up to 16 children in self-contained units.

p.1

provider

At the time of the visit, the service was accommodating 11 children aged 16 and 17.

p.1

provider

The service registered with Ofsted in June 2024. The registered service manager has been in post since the service was registered with Ofsted.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Ofsted announced a full inspection on 12 January 2026, in line with the social care common inspection framework. During the inspection, the inspectors identified that children living in this supported accommodation service require consistently high levels of supervision to meet their complex needs and keep them safe.

p.1

This monitoring visit

On 15 January 2026, Ofsted made the decision to convert this inspection to a monitoring. This was because children’s care arrangements were not aligned with The Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023. Ofsted found that this provider was operating unregistered children’s homes.

p.1

This monitoring visit

The needs and vulnerabilities of the children living in this service are outside of the scope of The Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023. For example, all children who move into the premises require 22 hours of support a day from a ‘live in’ staff member. This is to ensure that their individual needs are met and that they are protected from harm.

p.1

This monitoring visit

After eight weeks the registered manager and staff make plans to reduce this support. However, these reductions are rarely successful. As a result, children’s Inspection report for supported accommodation provider - monitoring visit: Indigo Support Limited 2 support hours are again increased because children do not have the skills or confidence to live safely in their own home. For example, one child who has lived at the premises for 4 months continues to be supported 22 hours a day. This further demonstrates that the provider is operating outside of the scope of supported accommodation.

p.1

This monitoring visit

The nominated individual and the registered service manager confirmed that they did not change their model of supported accommodation to ensure that they comply with the regulations. Their lack of understanding of the regulations has led to continuing care practice across the organisation. For example, in these solo accommodation premises staff said they undertake most of cleaning in the communal areas while children are responsible for the own bedrooms.
