Leadership and governance Expected standard
Leaders explain how they will ensure that staff are effective in ensuring the smooth running of the club. They talk about the importance they place on promoting children's welfare and behaviour. For example, staff are encouraged to check in with children regularly throughout each session to establish how they are feeling. Staff are expected to use these check ins to support children to learn how to name and understand their feelings and emotions. Leaders place a great significance on supporting children to regulate their own feelings and emotions. Staff receive training to enable them to skilfully support children's emotional development. However, although newer staff members access mandatory training they have not, as yet, accessed targeted training offered by leaders. Leaders consider the quality of staff interactions with children to be a strength of the setting. Consequently, staff wellbeing is a high priority for leaders. Staff receive regular supervision

We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.

About this inspection
There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
