p.1

Inspected under the social care common inspection framework

p.1

provider

This service is operated by a private provider and offers accommodation for up to 23 children across 5 properties that are not limited to accommodating looked-after children or care leavers. At the time of the inspection, the service was providing supported accommodation for 10 children.

p.1

provider

The provider registered in July 2023. The nominated individual and registered service manager have remained in post since registration.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Ofsted carried out a full inspection from 29 September to 2 October 2025. Serious and widespread shortfalls were identified in relation to safeguarding practice and management oversight. The service was given an outcome 3 inspection judgement.

p.1

This monitoring visit

The provider was failing to ensure that the supported accommodation undertaking was being run effectively, and leaders and managers did not understand what was required of them. As a result, the provider was issued compliance notices in relation to regulations 4 and 7.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Ofsted carried out a monitoring visit on 3 December 2025 to monitor the compliance notices. The inspector found that the provider had made some progress in meeting the compliance notices. However, these were reissued for regulations 4 and 7 to ensure full compliance. Inspection report for supported accommodation provider - monitoring visit: Life Skills Supporting Accommodation Ltd The purpose of this latest visit was to monitor the progress made in relation to the compliance notices issued on 4 December 2025. The inspector visited two of the premises and spoke with the registered service manager and staff.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers now ensure that all children have a support plan. Each plan has detailed information from the child’s initial referral. This includes known risks as well as children’s cultural, religious and communication needs. Plans have clear targets for areas such as education, health, and independence skills. This ensures that staff know how to best support children and how to communicate with them. For children whose first language is English, their views are more detailed in the plans.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Staff regularly review plans and complete monthly reflections. This enables staff, children, and partner agencies to track progress as well as identify further areas of support. The provider continues to work with local authorities to develop referral pathways. One child moved into the accommodation in December 2025. Despite this being a quick transition, the child had a support plan in place, and this helped staff to have a good understanding of the child’s support needs.

p.2

This monitoring visit

All children have missing-from-home plans. These provide staff with information to ensure that they know how to respond if children do not return home. Staff update children’s plans if they identify any new vulnerabilities.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The provider continues to develop a new case management system. However, this is not yet operational. The registered service manager demonstrates a good understanding of the children and his oversight of the service. Weekly and monthly updates are created to highlight progress and any areas of concern, as well as regular visit to the premises. However, the registered service manager is not always able to easily access children’s records. This hampers the effectiveness of monitoring and oversight of the service.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The provider has updated their statement of purpose. This accurately reflects the service that is being delivered and how children are supported. However, not all service information is included in the document. Inspection report for supported accommodation provider - monitoring visit: Life Skills Supporting Accommodation Ltd
