Jagdev, Ravinder Kaur

Unique reference number (URN): 2796749 Address: 62 Buckland Road, Taunton, TA2 8ER Type: Childminder Registered with Ofsted: 23/12/2024 Registers: EYR, CCR, VCR Registered person: Jagdev, Ravinder Kaur

p.1

Leadership and governance Needs attention

The childminder has a realistic understanding of her strengths and areas for development. She demonstrates a drive to make improvements to the quality of care she provides. However, the childminder has not maintained her knowledge and understanding of the statutory requirements of the early years foundation stage. As such, she has not notified Ofsted of significant changes and events that may impact on her provision.

p.1

Leadership and governance Needs attention

The childminder has undertaken some professional development, prioritising improvements to the standards of health and safety in her home. For example, she has developed her understanding of safe sleep practice, supporting healthy eating and how to safeguard children's welfare. She has strengthened her risk assessments to ensure any potential hazards to children are removed. The childminder demonstrates, through discussion, how she works with parents to find out about children's needs and development when they start. This includes any barriers to their learning. She communicates daily with parents to keep them informed. However, she does not work with them to ensure she has sufficient information to make decisions regarding meeting children's changing needs. As such, she does not plan and deliver an ambitious curriculum to help them build further on what they already know and can do.

About this inspection

We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.

About this inspection

There were no early years children present at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
