p.2

Findings from the inspection

Children are helped to express their wishes and feelings. They are encouraged to make choices about their lives. Staff are adept at understanding each child’s way of communicating. Some children will use words, whereas others use signs and symbols, pictures, and objects of reference. As a result, children are involved wherever possible with their care.

p.3

Findings from the inspection

Children enjoy a range of in-house and on-site activities. However, activities away from the home for some children have been limited for one child. This is because not all staff feel confident supporting this child within the community, as a result of the potential risk of the child becoming unsettled and displaying behaviours that challenge. This does not support the child to have varied opportunities to help improve their confidence and enhance their social engagement.

p.3

Findings from the inspection

The manager has ensured that the three requirements made at the last inspection have been met. One recommendation was set during this inspection. Assurance inspection report for children’s home: 2833923 4
