Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2686855 1 Registered provider: J24 Resourcing Ltd
p.1
Information about this children’s home
The home is owned and operated by a private organisation. It provides care for up to 3 children who may have social and emotional difficulties. There were 2 children living in the home at the time of the inspection.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
The manager registered with Ofsted in July 2024.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This home was judged inadequate at the full inspection on 3 and 4 December 2025. Ofsted issued a notice restricting accommodation at the full inspection in September 2025. The notice restricting accommodation was reissued at the inspection in December 2025.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This visit was carried out to assess the progress and action taken by the manager following the restriction of accommodation. It was also to review the progress made by leaders and managers in addressing the concerns raised at the full inspection.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Managers have developed an action plan. This outlines the steps taken to address the requirements made at the full inspection in December 2025. Progress includes training to develop staff skills and knowledge, and manager oversight.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The home is regularly reviewed by an independent visitor. However, the independent visitor does not always provide the additional layer of scrutiny and oversight they should. Managers oversight has improved since the last inspection. However, this is not always critically reflective. This impacts on progression of staff development and therefore the care provided to children.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Children’s risk assessments do not always contain information relating to their specific needs. One child’s risk assessment provides guidance to staff about how to support children effectively. However, it does not consider all known risks. A risk assessment for another child does not relate to their specific known risks and Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2686855 2 references a different child. This leads to inconsistent approaches from staff in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Children have made some progress since the last inspection. One child has been missing from home on fewer occasions. Staff follow the individualised risk assessment for this child more consistently. As a result, there has been a reduction of risk.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Staff have been supported to access training to develop a greater understanding of children’s need. One member of staff said how they were dealing with the behaviours and now they have been supported to explore why children may struggle with their emotions.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Children’s opportunities to develop and learn through education remain limited. Staff do not support children with education-focused activities. As a result, children’s learning and development are being hampered.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Staff do not support children to prepare for future independence and adulthood. The manager can highlight the vulnerabilities for children moving on to independence. Despite this, there has been minimal preparation provided by staff in supporting children with this.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Although areas for improvement remain, the provider has made some progress in addressing the primary concerns following the full inspection in December 2025. The restriction of accommodation was lifted following this monitoring visit.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The remaining requirements raised at the full inspection in December 2025 will be reviewed at the next inspection. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2686855 3
