Childminder

Unique reference number (URN): 2674701 Registered with Ofsted: 29/11/2022 Registers: EYR, CCR, VCR

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder has taken appropriate action since the last inspection to address the action raised. She has completed the mandatory training and obtained a paediatric first-aid qualification. This helps the childminder to have an up-to-date knowledge of how to respond appropriately in an emergency, ensuring children's safety. Furthermore, she regularly reflects on and analyses her practice, which helps her to identify areas for development within her provision. For example, the childminder understands the importance of continuing to develop her skills and knowledge. She explains she does this through online training and professional discussions with local authority early years advisers and local childminders.

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder has a secure understanding of how to design a holistic curriculum based on children's interests, ages and developmental levels. She demonstrates the importance of gathering information from parents and carers about children's starting points so that she can plan for their next steps in learning. In addition, the childminder understands how to assess children's progress and identify where they may need additional support to help them to reach their full potential. The childminder maintains a safe and welcoming environment, where children can play and learn. She recognises how to use daily routines to support learning and help children to understand the expectations for their behaviour. The childminder explains how she will provide children with enjoyable and stimulating experiences in the local and wider community to enhance their social skills and wellbeing.

About this inspection

We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.

p.3

About this inspection

There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
