Inspection report for children’s home – monitoring visit: 2731541 1 Registered provider: 360 Children’s Residential Services Limited

p.1

Inspected under the social care common inspection framework

p.1

Information about this children’s home

This home is operated by a private organisation and is registered to provide care for up to 2 children.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

The home and the manager were registered with Ofsted in July 2023. The manager was present during the monitoring visit.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

No children were living in the home at the time of this inspection.

p.1

This monitoring visit

A monitoring visit was carried out on 1 December 2025 and the inspector found concerns about the leadership and management of the home. They also identified concerns about the care and safety of the child who lived there. Consequently, a compliance notice was issued under Regulation 12, ‘The protection of children standard’. The purpose of this monitoring visit was to determine the progress leaders and managers had made to address concerns outlined in the compliance notice.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers accept that the home was in crisis due to ongoing and significant incidents and a lack of consistent, suitably trained staff. They are aware that this had a negative impact on the care of children. They recognise that action needed to be taken to ensure that children in their care receive the level of care and support that they need.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers have begun to make the changes that are required. However, these are in their early stages. A permanent, experienced staff team is in place. This includes deputy managers who provide support with the management and oversight of the home. Training that aims to upskill staff in areas such as compliance, managing incidents and allegations has been booked. Team days to focus on Inspection report for children’s home – monitoring visit: 2731541 2 development and reflection have been planned. However, it is not yet known whether the training and development will have a positive impact on practice and therefore the care of children.

p.1

This monitoring visit

A full review of practice around the crisis period has not been completed. This has prevented leaders and managers from identifying what went wrong and the precise actions needed to ensure that leaders, managers and staff are able to meet children’s needs and keep them safe in the future.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The registered manager has identified a training course that should benefit her practice. However, this has not been discussed with the responsible individual. No review has been completed to determine whether the leadership and management of the home may have contributed to the concerns that have been identified. This has prevented any necessary learning from being identified and actioned.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Work to complete repairs to the home is ongoing. Staff have completed tasks such as painting and assembling furniture.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The manager has documented her oversight of incidents that have taken place when the previous child lived in the home. During these incidents, staff have restrained the child. The child has reported being hurt by these restraints. The management oversight does not consider the child’s expressed views and experiences. It lacks analysis, evaluation and critical reflection and review of staff practice. This has prevented thorough reviews of the staff practice during long and serious incidents and review of how the care and protection of children in the home could be improved.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Staff have completed reflective conversations with the child who previously lived at the home following incidents. However, these conversations are not effective in gaining a view of the child’s experiences and feelings related to the incident or the practice of staff.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Staff did not inform leaders and managers that the child had reported being punched by a member of staff until the next morning. This prevented management oversight and decision-making in relation to whether the child had been injured and whether they were safe. Leaders and managers took appropriate action once they were aware of the incident. However, this incident was not reported to Ofsted. Leaders and managers have not addressed these concerns with staff.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The quality of the supervision that staff receive is mixed. There is a focus on their wellbeing and the need for support. However, there is a lack of discussion and reflection on safeguarding concerns and the incidents that have taken place. This does not support staff to reflect on their practice and to identify what has gone well and how their practice could be improved. Inspection report for children’s home – monitoring visit: 2731541 3 Staff attend well-planned, informative team meetings. These meetings provide some reflection on incidents and support systems that are in place for staff. Staff spoke positively about the relationships within the team and how they have provided support to one another. The registered manager is present in the home and approachable. However, some staff do not always feel listened to by managers or that managers are proactive in promoting change.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Due to the nature of this monitoring visit, requirements and recommendations from the full inspection and the previous monitoring visit were not considered during this inspection. These requirements and recommendations remain in place. Inspection report for children’s home – monitoring visit: 2731541 4
