Leadership and governance Expected standard
The childminder is clear about her roles and responsibilities in meeting the requirements of the early years foundation stage, including those relating to keeping children safe and protecting them from harm. The childminder shows a commitment to inclusion. She understands how to support disadvantaged children and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) through targeted support. She understands the importance of regular communication and sharing information with parents. The childminder gives examples of working with a range of professionals to support children with SEND. This includes health visitors, speech and language therapists and the local authority. She shares her experiences of creating targets for children and how she uses assessment to measure the progress they make. The childminder explains how she regularly reflects on her practice. She considers the progress that children make and the impact her curriculum and teaching have on children's

About this inspection
We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.
p.3
About this inspection
There were no early years children present or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
