Leaders and managers have enhanced the training available for supervising social workers and foster carers. The delivery of this training has started. This includes ensuring that newly recruited foster carers have a clear understanding of safeguarding procedures, the roles and responsibilities of external professionals and the importance of working collaboratively with partner agencies. Inspection report for independent fostering agencies – monitoring visit: Phoenix Community Care 2 Foster carers have clear guidance, formalised through a policy update regarding their duty to cooperate with all professionals who may conduct an investigation.

p.2
This monitoring visit
Leaders and managers recognise the importance of clear planning at the beginning of a child’s placement. Updated policies provide guidance on time frames for placement planning meetings and how to escalate matters of concern. This has been conveyed to staff and foster carers.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Leaders and managers have strengthened safeguarding practice through updated policies that clarify responsibilities for notifying Ofsted, managing Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) referrals and commissioning independent assessors. These changes have been communicated to staff. They reinforce duties, timescales for notification and expectations for decision-making to improve practice.
