the care of children the safety of children the effectiveness of leaders and managers. p.1
Findings from the inspection
We did not identify any serious or widespread concerns in relation to the care or protection of children at this assurance inspection.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
The child living in the home is safe and increasingly settled as a result of consistent, nurturing care provided by staff. Staff have built positive, trusting relationships with the child. This has supported increased the child’s engagement, including spending time in communal areas, and taking part in activities outside the home. Staff are also supporting the child with regular shopping trips; this is good progress from the child’s starting point.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Staff know the child well and use this knowledge to respond appropriately to the child’s individual needs. The child did not raise any concerns about their relationships with staff, their safety, or the quality of care they received.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Care planning is clear and thorough, helping staff to understand the child’s experiences and provide stable, predictable routines that promote a sense of security. Daily structure is now more established, and the child responds more positively to the boundaries and expectations in place. Caring for their new guinea pig has had a positive impact on the child’s emotional well-being and daily routine, including improvements in their sleep.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Leaders and managers ensure that staff changes have minimal impact on the quality of care provided. Committed staff work additional hours where required and report that they have sufficient time to rest. Although agency staff are used, they are well inducted, knowledgeable about the child’s needs, and effectively integrated into the team. Permanent staff feel confident in their roles and report strong communication and teamwork, supporting continuity and consistency of care for the child.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Staff are confident in supporting the child when the child is distressed or finding situations difficult. Staff respond calmly and appropriately, which has contributed to a reduction in the frequency and intensity of these situations. Managers provide effective oversight and guidance, ensuring staff are supported to deliver safe and child-centred care. Managers also work closely with external safeguarding partners to manage and reduce known risks for the child.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
The registered manager is leaving, with clear arrangements in place for the incoming manager. She is fully committed to supporting an effective handover and ensuring continuity in the home. Despite this change, leaders and managers continue to maintain strong oversight of the home and demonstrate a clear commitment to the child’s safety, well-being, and progress. Monitoring arrangements are robust and support continuous improvement. Staff report feeling well supported in their roles.
