Childminder

Unique reference number (URN): 2731772 Registered with Ofsted: 03/07/2023 Registers: EYR, CCR, VCR

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder is highly conscious of her responsibility to protect children and demonstrates a well-developed understanding of the requirements of the early years foundation stage. She actively seeks out information, guidance and clarification from other services and professionals to ensure that she has the most up-to-date information she needs to successfully work within the requirements. The childminder is keen to improve and enhance her service. She seeks out professional development opportunities to enhance her teaching for all children, but with specific children in mind. For example, she has accessed training to enhance her knowledge of some of the less common signs of child neglect. She has gained a place on a course to enhance her communication with children who may speak English as an additional language or have delays in their speech and language development.

p.1

Leadership and governance Expected standard

The childminder is a positive advocate for children in her care who may be disadvantaged. She knows how to use additional funding that children receive to enable them to have full access to the learning opportunities she will provide. This may include outdoor learning or cultural experiences, such as visiting the theatre to listen to child-friendly classical music performances.

About this inspection

We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage.

p.3

About this inspection

There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
