Childminder
Unique reference number (URN): 315731 Registered with Ofsted: 22/04/1993 Registers: EYR, CCR, VCR
p.1
Leadership and governance Expected standard
The childminder demonstrates a clear understanding of statutory requirements and maintains robust systems to ensure the setting is ready to provide safe, high-quality early years care. She keeps her knowledge up to date through regular training, recently completing safeguarding and food-hygiene refreshers, and both she and any assistants hold valid paediatric first-aid certificates. She applies this learning in practice by reviewing emergency procedures, keeping accurate accident records and ensuring the premises remain safe, organised and well maintained.
p.1
Leadership and governance Expected standard
The childminder implements risk assessments effectively. She explains how she would manage daily routines and off-site activities safely and maintains clear supervision arrangements and secure outdoor areas. The childminder shows thoughtful consideration of how she would meet children's individual needs, including promoting healthy routines, supporting physical development and responding to dietary or cultural requirements. The childminder manages workload and wellbeing well. Through regular check-ins and supervision with her assistants, she reviews practice and has recently streamlined record- keeping to reduce administrative burden. Systems for communicating with families, such as daily message books and photo updates, are ready to use when required. Her reflective practice, commitment to professional development and sustained compliance demonstrate that she meets the expected standard for leadership and governance.

About this inspection
There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
