Leadership and governance Expected standard

Highly motivated leaders demonstrate a clear and precise understanding of the setting's ethos. They confidently discuss how the ongoing use of self-evaluation helps to sustain high standards of care for staff, children and families. Leaders use information gained from self- evaluation to support children's individual needs. In particular, those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those who face barriers to their learning. For example, leaders work together to ensure that they create quieter areas within the environment, providing space for children to help them to regulate their emotions when needed. Staff's wellbeing is a high priority, and current staff feel extremely valued and supported.
