p.1
Leadership and governance Needs attention
The childminder has not renewed her paediatric first-aid training. Due to alternative training and her good knowledge in this area, to date, this has had minimal impact on children's safety. However, this is a breach of requirements.
p.1
Leadership and governance Needs attention
In all other regards, the childminder provides a safe environment for children. There are various resources available for all ages and suitable equipment for young children during mealtimes and nap times. The childminder carries out risk assessments to ensure that her premises are safe and suitable for children. For example, she takes steps to ensure that the environment is hygienic regarding animals in the setting, and removes dangerous or hazardous items in the garden area. This provides a safe environment for children to play and explore.
p.1
Leadership and governance Needs attention
The childminder demonstrates a secure understanding of the learning and development requirements of the early years foundation stage. She has also given a lot of consideration to how she would identify and meet the needs of children who face barriers to their learning. The childminder has a clear focus for children, and this is based around developing children's confidence and wellbeing, developing strong foundations for learning. The childminder provides a large outdoor area where children can learn about British wildlife, take care of the tortoise and learn about the life cycle of chickens. She recognises how to support children's wider knowledge of the world.
p.1
Leadership and governance Needs attention
The childminder understands how to develop effective working partnerships with parents. For example, she intends to share information with parents regularly regarding children's care and education. She plans to track children's learning closely and provide regular progress summaries that highlight what children are working on next. Additionally, she has clear plans of how to share this information with parents and support home learning opportunities, such as reading.

About this inspection
There were no early years children present and/or on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders and an inspection of the premises, equipment, and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors only evaluate and grade leadership and governance as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess the impact on children of other evaluation areas.
