the care of children the safety of children the effectiveness of leaders and managers. The inspector has looked closely at the experiences and progress of children, using the social care common inspection framework. This assurance inspection was carried out under the Care Standards Act 2000 to assess the effectiveness of the service, how it meets the core functions of the service as set out in legislation, and to consider how well it complies with The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the ‘Guide to the Children’s Homes Regulations, including the quality standards’. p.1
Findings from the inspection
We did not identify any serious or widespread concerns in relation to the care or protection of children at this assurance inspection.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
The home registered on 1 August 2025. Since registration, no children have lived at the home. The organisation is actively completing assessments and reviewing referrals to ensure appropriate matching and to support positive outcomes for children when they move into the home. Clear plans are in place to progress the admission of children in a safe and considered manner.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
The staff team members are currently redeployed to other homes in the organisation and continue to complete the provider’s mandatory training requirements. Staff have recently undertaken training to support the delivery of a therapeutic approach to care. This training will enhance staff’s ability to provide a patient, empathetic and trauma-informed approach to meeting children’s needs. However, it is recognised that this practice will need to become fully embedded once children are admitted to the home.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Staff attend regular team meetings, reflective practice sessions and therapeutic parenting sessions while working at other homes in the organisation. The team also hold focused meetings, for example to review safeguarding protocols and policies. These arrangements will need to be clearly established and implemented in the home once children move in to ensure consistency and effective practice.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Staff have regular one-to-one supervision meetings. These provide opportunities for staff to discuss their practice, ask questions and receive professional guidance to support the development of their care practice. This ensures staff have a clear understanding of their roles, duties and responsibilities, and it supports their ongoing professional development and knowledge.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
The decor and furnishings throughout the home provide a welcoming environment. The home is spacious and presents a homely feel, with pleasant communal areas furnished with soft furnishings. Children’s bedrooms are bright and colourful and are ready to be personalised once children are admitted. The gardens are well maintained and provide suitable outdoor spaces for children to play and enjoy activities. Assurance inspection report for children's home: 2828256 3 FOR PUBLIC RELEASE
