p.1
Information about this children’s home
There were two children living at the home at the time of the inspection.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Serious and widespread concerns regarding the care and protection of children were identified during an assurance inspection of the home on 22 October 2025. This subsequent inspection was carried out to ensure that the provider had taken appropriate action and was complying with the requirements set to address those concerns.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The provider has made notable improvements in the safeguarding arrangements and the overall care provided to children. Of the six requirements set during the previous inspection, five have been met, demonstrating progress in addressing the identified concerns.
p.1
This monitoring visit
At the time of the inspection, the registered manager was not present, and the home was being overseen by an interim manager alongside the responsible individual. Staff say that there have been positive changes since the interim manager’s arrival, including improved supervision, clearer safeguarding responsibilities and a more consistent approach to care. Staff also described an increase in staff morale. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2692638 2 Managers have made safeguarding a central focus of supervision. This improved frequency and quality of supervision has strengthened staff knowledge and practice. This has been further supported through additional training and regular team meetings. Children’s files have been reviewed and updated, including a full review of risk assessments. Staff have completed targeted risk assessment training. This has enhanced their understanding of how risks are recorded, updated and linked to

strategies that help to safeguard children.
p.2
This monitoring visit
There have been no allegations against staff since the last inspection. Staff are now clearer about the steps required should an allegation occur. Additional measures have been introduced to strengthen management oversight, with the responsible individual reviewing past allegations and identifying areas for improvement.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The quality of notifications and information provided to Ofsted has also improved. While the majority have been received in good time, there was still a delay in three of the notifications completed.
p.2
This monitoring visit
There are shortfalls in the registered manager’s review of a safeguarding incident. This had already been recognised by the responsible individual, who acted promptly to escalate concerns to the child’s social worker, ensuring that appropriate follow-up action was taken.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Significant improvements have been made to the home’s physical environment. Previous maintenance issues, including holes in walls, damaged doors and broken furniture, have been repaired or replaced. Most areas have been repainted in warm colours, and carpets have been replaced. Staff have involved the children in redecorating their bedrooms, and plans are in place to help them maintain these to a good standard. Office arrangements have also improved. For example, the medication cupboard has been moved to a more secure location. These changes have created a cleaner, safer and more homely environment, which children and staff report has had a positive effect on their sense of pride in the home.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Since the last inspection, one child has left the home. Although this was an unplanned move, staff took steps to ensure a positive ending by visiting the child after the move, taking them out for dinner and providing a goodbye gift. A disruption review identified lessons to be learned, particularly around setting boundaries earlier. This reflective approach is supporting managers to strengthen future placement planning.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Since the last visit, other children have made progress, supported by clearer boundaries and routines. One child now engages more with staff and has re-engaged with tuition. Another child spoke positively about the clearer rules and expectations, saying that these were needed. This child has also had fewer missing-from-home incidents, attributing the change to them feeling more listened to. Both children reported feeling happier in the home because of these recent changes. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2692638 3 Managers have strengthened communication with professionals by introducing weekly reports and providing timely updates following incidents. Families and professionals report improvements in how staff work with them and in the quality of care provided to children. Although these changes are recent, they have already observed areas in which children are making progress.
