p.2
Findings from the inspection
This inspection took place to look at specific concerns following a complaint having been received by Ofsted. The inspector evaluated how children are cared for, helped and protected, and assessed the actions of leaders and staff.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Currently, there is one child living in the home. Two children have recently moved out of the home. Staff have built strong and trusting relationships with the child, and observations of interactions between staff and the child were positive. The staff know the child well, and a professional working with the child said they could not praise staff enough for the support and care given to them.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
The home is large and welcoming. All the communal areas in the home have recently been redecorated to a high standard. Children’s bedrooms are large spaces, personalised to their tastes and interests. When any issues in the home are identified, they are actioned quickly and resolved.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
It is rare for children to go missing from the home. However, when they do, staff follow procedures consistently. Staff are proactive in searching for children and in keeping all relevant professionals and family members updated. When children return to the home, they are greeted warmly and their welfare is prioritised.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Staff are knowledgeable about how best to support each individual child as they know the children well. Staff are able to quickly identify when there is a change in the presentation of a child. This knowledge helps to ensure the children’s safety and well-being.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Staff take the children to activities outside of the home, which supports them to build and maintain relationships. Staff also support the children to pursue their chosen hobbies. This provides children with opportunities to socialise in their wider community and to broaden their experiences.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Staff facilitate weekly children’s meetings. These are used as an opportunity for children to share their views and raise any issues that they may have. There is significant evidence of staff actioning the requests made by children, including requests for specific meals to be made.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
The registered manager and staff have good knowledge of each child and their needs, and know how best to support them. Additionally, the registered manager has a good understanding of the home’s strengths and weaknesses and has a development plan that is being implemented effectively.
