Inspection report for children's home - monitoring visit: 2595123 1 Registered provider: Casaegis LTD

p.1

Inspected under the social care common inspection framework

p.1

Information about this children’s home

This home is privately owned. It is registered to provide care for up to four children who experience social and emotional difficulties.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

There is currently no registered manager or responsible individual. This inspection was supported by the director.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

At the time of this inspection, no children were living at the home.

p.1

This monitoring visit

This monitoring visit was undertaken to review progress against two compliance notices set at the previous full inspection and a notice that restricted any new admissions to the home. Good progress had been made. However, due to changes in the operation of the home, Ofsted was unable to gather sufficient evidence to determine that the provider had met all the steps in the notices and that any changes have been embedded in everyday practice. The provider has complied with the restriction notice in place.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Managers had started to implement some changes in the home. They developed new processes for the oversight and monitoring across the home. A strategy had been developed to improve staff skills through training.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Some progress had been made in ensuring that each child has a risk management plan that identifies what staff must do to reduce these areas of risk for children. However, it was not clear how and when risk management plans are reviewed and by whom. Inspection report for children's home - monitoring visit: 2595123 2 Managers implemented an updated version of the safeguarding flowchart. This provided staff with better information of what they must do if they have a concern about a colleague’s care practice.

p.1

This monitoring visit

There was an incident in the home that involved physically holding a child. Managers had not ensured that a record was completed. They did not have oversight of the incident and missed the opportunity for a debrief with the child and the staff involved.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The provider has confirmed that the home will have a period of closure and will notify Ofsted three months prior to accommodating children. This will allow the provider to recruit a responsible individual, manager and staff team.

p.2

This monitoring visit

At this monitoring visit, the requirements set at the last inspection were not reviewed and will be carried over to the next inspection.
