p.1
Inspected under the social care common inspection framework
p.1
Information about this children’s home
This privately owned children’s home is registered to provide care for up to four children who may experience social and emotional difficulties . At the time of the monitoring visit, no children were living in the home .
p.1
Information about this children’s home
The registered manager has submitted a voluntary cancellation form to Ofsted and is not in post. There is no current responsible individual in place. The provider has identified individuals to take on the roles of responsible individual and registered manager. However, at the time of this visit, neither has submitted an application to Ofsted.
p.1
This monitoring visit
On 7 August 2025, Ofsted conducted an assurance inspection at this children’s home. The inspection identified serious and widespread concerns regarding the care and safety of children. During the inspection, one child was removed from the home by their placing authority, and the remaining child was moved shortly thereafter.
p.1
This monitoring visit
In response to the findings, Ofsted issued a notice restricting accommodation at the home and two compliance notices relating to the protection of children and leadership and management.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the assurance inspection, the provider has taken some steps to address some of the identified failings. The home environment has been improved. A newly formed leadership and management team has been appointed, including a proposed responsible individual, a proposed registered manager and senior staff members. A new staff team is also being appointed.
p.1
This monitoring visit
However, at the time of this monitoring visit, the new leadership team had been in the home for only one full day. The team was unaware of the detail of the compliance notices that had previously been issued, and children’s files were not accessible. Consequently, there was minimal evidence of progress towards meeting Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2775324 2 the compliance notices or other shortfalls. The provider has initiated some structural changes aimed at improving the quality of care. However, their plans are in their infancy and are yet to have an impact.
p.1
This monitoring visit
As a result of this monitoring visit, a further restriction of accommodation notice and two compliance notices have been served. Requirements raised at the previous assurance inspection have also been reissued along with an additional requirement regarding children’s files.
