Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2835139 1 Registered provider: Sanitas Cura Limited
p.1
Inspected under the social care common inspection framework
p.1
Information about this children’s home
This privately run children’s home provides care for one child who may have social and emotional difficulties.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
No children were living in the home at the time of the monitoring visit.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
The home and the manager were registered with Ofsted in August 2025.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Following an assurance inspection on 4 September 2025, Ofsted took action under section 20B of the Care Standards Act 2000, issuing a notice suspending the registration to carry on the children’s home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This monitoring visit took place to monitor the progress made by the provider and to ensure that the provider was adhering to the suspension notice.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the last inspection, a number of staff have left the organisation. Leaders and managers have successfully recruited staff and are in the process of completing safer recruitment checks and induction. At the time of the inspection, only four staff were employed at the home. This means that the provider does not yet have sufficient staff to care for a child safely or to ensure that a stable and experienced workforce will after look the child.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The manager and staff team have completed some of the training identified as required at the last inspection. However, the provider was unable to demonstrate the effectiveness of some sessions, or that experienced and competent professionals had delivered the training. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2835139 2 The manager has held a meeting with the staff to reflect on the last inspection. However, it is not clear from the records if all staff attended the meeting, and the reflection and learning are limited as leaders themselves have not thoroughly reflected on the shortfalls in safeguarding practices. This does not support the improvement of staff practice.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Leaders and managers have taken some action to revise documents to support the referral and admission process. However, the document does not reflect the home’s registration or consider the skills and experience of the staff team together with the risks and vulnerabilities of children. Other key documents, such as behaviour, risk plans and care and support plans, have not yet been revised or developed in a way that supports staff to safeguard a child.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Action has been taken to revise policies and procedures such as those relating to smoking and missing from home. However, these records contain conflicting information and do not mirror information recorded in other documents, such as the home’s statement of purpose. This fails to provide clarity for staff.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Requirements made at the last inspection are outside the scope of this visit. These will be reviewed at the next inspection. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2835139 3
