At the time of the visit, no children were living at the home.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
There has been no registered manager since 21 April 2025. The service manager is currently providing management oversight for this home. A manager has been appointed and started in post in September 2025. They have yet to register with Ofsted.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The home was judged inadequate at the full inspection on 30 June and 1 July 2025, due to significant concerns that children were not safeguarded effectively. This affected their experiences and progress. On 11 July 2025, compliance notices were issued to the provider, relating to the protection of children and the leadership and management of the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
On 19 August, these compliance notices were monitored; however, not all the steps were met. The compliance notices were revised and reissued on 1 September. This visit was carried out to monitor the actions taken by the provider to meet the steps in the compliance notices.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the last inspection, both children have moved out of the home. Staff worked alongside children to support their moves to be as positive as possible. For one child, staff understood the importance of framing the move as positive. The child was moving on to a home with increased independence, which was aligned to their wishes. The child was supported to experience moving on in a positive way and helped to understand that change is a part of life and can be good. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2751408 2 When children were in the home, two room searches took place. Both were appropriate, proportionate, included children and resulted in follow-up work taking place.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The provider has recruited a manager. They have started their induction, which has been updated to reflect the current needs of the service. The manager will continue to receive support from the service manager and an experienced interim deputy manager while they become accustomed to the role.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Leaders have supported staff to engage in a wide range of training and workshops, including focused work to address the shortfalls identified around lack of professional curiosity and relationships. Staff are motivated by these learning opportunities. This has been further supported by regular, planned time to engage in work related to achieving the diploma. Leaders have also introduced regular opportunities for the whole team to reflect together.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Staff now receive regular, reflective supervision from a competent manager. Supervision is used to support staff, encourage their development and address any practice issues that may have been identified. This has also helped managers to consider whether the learning from training and workshops is embedded into staff practice. As no children are in the home, it is difficult to fully evaluate the effectiveness of these changes.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Senior leadership oversight has continued to strengthen throughout this time. There are now several processes in place to ensure that all leaders have a good understanding of the day-to-day happenings in the home. This enables leaders to make timely decisions and communicate clearly any actions. Outcomes are then reviewed, and if further action is needed, the cycle continues.
p.2
This monitoring visit
One new member of staff has been recruited, and another member of staff has moved from another of the provider’s children’s homes. This means there is a now a full staff team. The induction for new starters has been improved to support staff to gain the right skills to work effectively with children. As no one has completed this induction yet, it is not possible to evaluate the effectiveness of the changes made.
p.2
This monitoring visit
All steps within the compliance notices have been met. The requirements issued at the last inspection have not been reviewed and will be restated. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2751408 3
